How it affects Microorganisms

The product includes ethyl alcohol, quaternary ammonium compounds, benzyl-C12-16-alkyldimethyl, chlorides.

Quaternary ammonium compounds are cationic surfactants that are highly toxic against microorganisms (fungi, bacteria, and viruses) and are therefore known agents with biocidal action.


NovirBox is the chemical version of CleanCloset. Its main purpose is to disinfect clothes and shoes. Clothes and fabrics can be hung on hangers on an internal clothesline or arranged folded on shelves. They are then sprayed for a few minutes with the chemical followed by a resting period. Finally, the product is eliminated via a filter. The total process is completed in less than 10 minutes.

The fogging tests were performed with Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus cells (indicators of pathogenic bacteria), with bacteriophages (viruses), and with indicator endospores (Bacillus atrophaeus, indicator for chemical sterilization). In all cases, the solution proved to be efficient, and therefore it can be concluded that the solution acts on a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including viruses and bacteria.

NovirBox is a cabinet in zinc plate with 2mm thickness and electrostatic painting. The door is in polycarbonate. Its outside dimensions are 810mm x 810mm x 1850 mm (width x depth x height) and inside dimensions are: 620mm x 620mm x 1500mm. The equipment includes 3 ultrasonic nebulizers that produce a mist from the chemical product. The product is non-toxic.

Biocidal activity was verified by UCCCB – Bacteria Culture Collection Services of the University of Coimbra (Coimbra, Portugal).

CITEVE (Textile and Apparel Technological Center) has analyzed the fabrics exposed to fog for tensile strength, elongation at break, dimensional stability and colorimetric evaluation. No changes were detected.

The NoVirBox has a 7″ touchscreen monitor, a Windows 10 Pro PC, a controller and a barcode/QRcode reader.

The employee starts by scanning the label of the laundry to be disinfected through the barcode scanner.

The software checks the database to see if that item of clothing is in the “not disinfected” state. If it is, the employee can proceed with the disinfection process by placing the garment on a hanger that hangs inside the equipment. He closes the door and starts the process.

When the process is finished, the software registers that garment as disinfected. The software runs in the cloud. All interfaces work via a browser.

For the fitting rooms, HoneyHell’s EDA51 barcode/QR SCAN reader with android-based touch screen is provided for staff to record the garments going into the fitting rooms as “not disinfected”. The touch screen also allows staff to characterize the customers who are trying on the garments. The software runs via a browser.

The BackOffice allows you to register garments manually or via ERP integration. Provides statistics. It allows managing users and their passwords, consulting events, defining clothes properties (type, color, disinfection program, gender, …).
